Contrary to sensational headlines claiming that Prince William’s real father has been “revealed” and that it’s “not who you think,” the truth is that Prince William is the confirmed biological son of King Charles III and Princess Diana, as confirmed by official sources, credible media, and the prince himself.
Multiple viral rumors and conspiracy videos have circulated online alleging that a leaked DNA test proved King Charles is not William’s father, with some even suggesting James Hewitt—Diana’s former riding instructor and lover—is the biological parent. However, these claims are entirely false. Boatos.org explicitly debunks the rumor, stating there is no confirmation from official sources or credible media that any DNA test was conducted between King Charles and his sons, and no official statement supports the theory.
In fact, Prince William himself has directly addressed these paternity rumors in a rare, firmly worded statement issued through Kensington Palace. He declared:
“Recent rumors concerning alleged DNA tests involving my family and myself are entirely false, baseless, and deeply hurtful. These fabrications not only serve to invade our privacy but aim to destabilize public trust and dignity in the institution I have served my whole life”.
William confirmed he has never taken a DNA test and has no reason to question his identity or his place in the royal family.
The James Hewitt theory is also historically impossible: Hewitt began his relationship with Diana after Prince Harry was born in 1984, meaning he could not be William’s father, who was born in 1982.
YouTube videos and social media posts claiming “DNA results confirm William’s true paternity” are entertainment fiction, not factual news. One such video even includes a disclaimer stating its content is “for entertainment purposes only” and should not be interpreted as factual.
In reality, Prince William is biologically related to King Charles III, and both William and Harry are confirmed biological brothers with the same parents. The headline thrives on the public’s fascination with royal secrets, but there is no credible evidence supporting the claim that Prince William’s real father is anyone other than King Charles.
